About Us

A Message from Our Chairperson

Meg Dwyer

Welcome to the Carolinas Chapter of APMP! As we head into our 21st year as a chapter, I am happy to report that we are stronger than ever and still growing!

In recent years, we have offered a wide variety of programs-- at no cost to our members!   Our traditional dinner meetings offer an opportunity to network with colleagues and to hear from featured speakers.  Speakers at these meetings have included proposal experts who bring us back to basics, offer best practices and offer fun and informative ways to engage.

Our informal, theme-focused networking breakfasts have been a popular way to meet the needs of our geographically dispersed membershiop.  These low key breakfast meetings give members in RTP, Charlotte and Charleston a chance to interact with peers, share some best practices and enjoy a delicious breakfast before jumping into their regular, often hectic day jobs.

In addition, our virtual lunch and learn programs allow us to hear from expert in a wide variety of relevant fields from across the globe.  These programs have proven immensely popular.

We are especially proud to co-sponsor (with the Georgia Chattahoochee and Florida Sunshine chapters) the incredibly successful Southern Proposal Accents Conference (SPAC).  Planning for this conference is year round and the results show.  In 2019, we move from a one day format to a 1.5 day format, because attendees want more! This event packs a big bang for your buck and draws professionals from across the U.S.

We added some new positions to our board, including regional liaisons, social media chairs and website administrators to better communicate with you-- our membership.  We're excited about expanding our membership and providing more valuable, enriching and fun programs throughout the year.  If you're interested in getting involved as a committee member for the Carolinas Chapter or as a SPAC volunteer, let us know.  We're always looking for new recruits with fresh ideas!

If you are not yet a member of APMP and would like to be, please contact Laura Snyder, our membership chair. If you are already an APMP member living in the Carolinas but have not yet affiliated with the Carolinas chapter, please do so. (Laura can help with that as well.) Increasing our membership across both North and South Carolina will help us provide better, more focused programs and ensure that you receive timley infomraiton about upcoming events.  Members can also attend programs and conferences at member rates.  If you have colleagues who you think would benefit from APMP membership, let us know and we'll be happy to reach out to them.

Finally, we continue to solicit feedback from members about the types of programs you would like to see.  If you have ideas for programs, know of potential presenters or would like to speak at an event yourself (either a dinner program or a virtual lunch and learn), please contact Emily Sweitzer, our program chair.

We look forward to another great year for APMP in the Carolinas and hope to see you at our next event!

Warm regards,
